I love pumpkin spice as much as the next #basic girl, I truly do. It's the perfect fall flavor and I love when it comes back in season. However, nothing can ever beat the peppermint craze that surrounds the holidays. It's everything from candy canes to peppermint bark, and I can't get enough of it.
Over here on the east coast, it's been insanely warm this year. It hit 70 degrees yesterday—in the middle of December! I love the cold, so it has definitely not been feeling like the Christmas season so far. Today, I decided it was peppermint to the rescue! I've created a boozy peppermint milkshake so you too can enjoy the flavor of the holidays while staying cool.
Ingredients:
- 2 large scoops peppermint ice cream
- 1.5 oz peppermint schnapps
- crushed candy canes or peppermints for garnish
To Make:
- Dip the rim of your glass in simple syrup and then in the crushed candy.
- Blend the ice cream and the schnapps together in a blender. I like to keep an eye on it while blending; I like still having a few lumps of ice cream in my cup. It doesn't make for the prettiest presentation, but it's definitely yummy!
- Pour into glass and serve immediately.
This recipe makes one drink, but it's easily multiplied and easily eyeballed–just throw a bunch of ice cream in the blender with some schnapps and you're good to go! Mini candy canes make great additional garnishes for your glasses too.
I love mixing up yummy ways to drink lol, me and my mom will definitely need to try this one!
Ooooh! If I made my milkshake as pretty as you did, I’d have a hard time drinking it. Great recipe gf! x Nicole | http://www.changeanddress.com
This sounds like a beverage right up my alley! I’ll have to make this once I get home!
Oh my goodness I need to make this IMMEDIATELY! Thanks for the idea!
This looks so yummy and festive! I usually only like “mint” flavor in actual mints and gum.
I’m a fan of any milkshakes, and a boozy milkshake sounds like a great holiday drink! 😀 Yum!
